This #gophertortoise just giving me that suspicious look from his burrow. #tortoise can live a long time, this one can live until 40-60 years in the wild. This yellow-bellied slider is buttoned up in the middle of the road! Hope he makes it back to the pond. Judging from the moss growing on the back maybe he is trying to dry out in the sun. Actually while this #turtle is native and very common in the southeast, it is not native to south #fl only being introduced to the region through pet releases.
